Carpet Concepts
> Self-initiated Project

I was buying some carpets from Spruce Carpets in Govan, a social enterprise that deals in secondhand carpets and got thinking about ways to use the offcuts that they can't resell, normally through them being too small. This is an ongoing process of working with this unusual material and every so often I hit on its use for various purposes:

Stools

This is an adaptation of Anthony Garay's excellent stool from his book, Turf. Made in collaboration with the Coach House Trust.
- Buy in the shop.

This stool uses rolled up carpet trimmings as wadding. I use it as a piano stool, as you need a nice firm seat for that. Made in collaboration with the Coach House Trust.

A Wardrobe

I used carpet as panelling for the sides of this custom made wardrobe. The pockets on the side are simply attached with velcro , which clings admirably to the carpet's existing felt undersurface. Made in collaboration with the Coach House Trust.
