Fotomaraton [March 2004]

'Vårtegn' (winner) - 'signs of spring' was one theme and here the most obvious herald of coming rebirth is the earlier and later sunlight. Hence..

Of course my favourite building had to feature. The impetus for this photo was actually the huge air-con vents that sprout from the ground, dwarfing anyone who walks by. Sadly no-one did. There's someone up on the walkway though!

Afternoon light on campus.

I finally got a half decent photo of this cool urban drab building that I love.

rustiness at the Kultur Senter.

And then I went out towards the fjord, past the docks and warehouses and the cool enormous forklifts that were loading containers onto trains like stacking Duplo blocks. This photo was nowhere near as good as I'd hoped.

And then I reached the fjord - and peace.

- and legs,    - and oranges,    - and Olav Trygvasson,    - and oh so many colours...

And apparently a winning photo - Moonplane seems a good name. As good as any.

This wasn't actually part of the marathon, but what the hey. Its a sculpture just outside my building on campus, taken in black and white and developed in the dark room by your truly. OK, I added a little contrast in photoshop. I've got a lot to learn.
